Originally from upstate New York, Erik Skantze joined the PrepMatters team shortly after his return from working abroad. Erik earned his B.S. in Economics from Cornell University, with concentrations in both Information Science and Communications, and is in the process of completing his MBA at The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. Inspired by a passion for learning and travel, he has spent time studying and working in countries around the world, including Australia, Singapore, Thailand, China, and Sweden. With over fifteen years of one-to-one tutoring experience, Erik enjoys helping students build the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to achieve their personal goals.

Sports, clubs, activities, or schoolwork; students face challenges every day. Standardized testing can seem to be one of the most daunting of these challenges, but when equipped with the necessary subject knowledge and testing strategies, everyone is capable of success. I believe that by teaching material in new and interesting ways, students not only become engaged in the test preparation process, but may also even find they enjoy it!

Erik was a fantastic. He helped improve my scores significantly by developing personalized strategies to deal with topics that were more challenging for me. Our weekly sessions, combined with independent hard work and practice, were the key to my success on the test. Erik has a great attitude, very encouraging, and I really enjoyed working with him.

Erik was an amazing tutor. I came to him for help in an almost impossible situation. Not only did he help me improve my LSAT score in a short period of time, his techniques, study tools and in-depth knowledge of the test  also allowed me to score better than I ever expected. Thanks to him I am now applying to some of the best law schools in the world. I can’t find anything negative to say about Erik. if you’re in need of tutoring help for a major exam he’s the man for the job!
