Originally from Bethesda, Becky developed a love of learning early as a National AP Scholar and National Merit Scholar in high school. She has studied economics and politics at the University of Maryland on a full scholarship and graduated with honors from Harvard Law School. After several years of practice, Becky decided to pursue a teaching career and returned to the classroom, this time tackling a graduate degree in Classics. She has earned her MA and is now working on her PhD.


It is critical to build a connection with students by making material relevant and interesting to them whenever possible. Fostering a realistic sense of improvement and competence, whatever the students’ starting point, will help their anxiety and motivation.
