Lindsay is a world-traveling, teacher-turned-lawyer with a passion for crafting a creative narrative. Originally from Seattle, Washington, and an alumna of Scripps College, Lindsay taught on three continents (Africa, Asia, and North America) before pursuing her juris doctor at the University of Washington School of Law and later putting down roots in Washington, D.C.
Lindsay is an appellate litigator by day, and in that work endeavors to meld the parties’ life stories with legal precedent in order to create a persuasive argument that tugs at the heartstrings. When not in the law office, she helps students bring their personal statements to life by infusing each with the student’s unique voice – a skill she honed by coaching students in speech contests and assisting clients in writing emotional immigration petitions.
On the personal front, Lindsay harbors an enduring love for dystopian and apocalyptic literature and aspires to someday have a German shepherd.
I firmly believe that the most effective personal statement showcases the student’s voice. A strong voice makes an essay unmistakably genuine – an essential quality that will help it stand out to admissions officers.
I focus on getting to know my students individually and drawing out their unique perspectives and ideas to ensure that each essay is personal and compelling.
